It hurts

6 January 2008 7 Comments

Well, Cricket match is over!

Micheal Clarke does it in just 5 balls! Tough luck on Indians.

I am feeling very bad. Extremely bad! India loses once again.

I wouldnt have felt tooo bad if they lost like the way did in the first test.
They lost without a fight! And the result was obvious!

But this match was completely different! They fought and they fought hard.
They was a sting in their batting even after aaaaaaallllllllllll the bad decisions.
The gutsy batting of kumble and dhoni was great! They way laxman and tendulkar batted in the first innings to take the lead was great! Although tendulkar was selfish in the end I felt.

But they lost with minutes to spare. I wont blame harbhajan, rp singh and ishant sharma. But the team just couldnt hold their nerves for the last 10 minutes I felt.

It hurts when it is so close and yet soooo far!!

It hurts very badly! (Yes, the behavioral economics was holding good here! :-))

Hoping for a better performance next time!

Utter stupidity. Indians should hav e played to win. We deserve to lose the match. Hats off to Australia for their strategic decisions. Yuvraj would have to stop dating and start batting.

Of course sachin was extremely selfish in the first innings. Where is all the sportsmanship gone?

I agree with a number of your comments! Like the one on yuvraj and sachin etc.

Australia did play well. I also agree to it! But I dont think India should have played for a win. Instead they should have played positively. The sehwag way! They deserve to lose or not, is not the issue. They lost it in the end!

I meant, they came close to a draw and lost it all in a minute.
And, it hurts!! Thats all I meant! I meant, it hurts to lose when they were almost safe!! πŸ™‚

Anyways, I think, Indian think tank will think twice before including yuvraj again! I personally believe that he lost a great oppurtunity. He has also revealed something here: He just cant play spin. And i think this is the beginning of the end of Yuvraj! I think he is going to make an exit like what sehwag did!

Just my thoughts! πŸ™‚ Might be stupid!

one error in ur post – it was michael clarke not stuart clarke. In any case the aussies were utterly fraudulent backed by the umpires.

  • Sundar Rajan G S said:

thanks vinodh for correcting the clarke names :-).. i will fix it!

and regarding fradulent.. hmmm… yeah.. probably true.. i would say πŸ™‚ The way they appealed for dhoni’s caught behind (which was given not out) reminded me of the way sri lankan’s appeal for lbw when murali bowls πŸ™‚

Anways.. As the blog post reads, IT HURTS!!

iam waiting for what is going to happen after the match . Are the question regarding dubious umpiring standards going to be raised ?
And what about ethics when the fielder claimed to have caught the ball when the replays clearly showed he hadnt !
will the ethics and sportsmanship of aussies b equestioned ? something that the world cricket refuses to do

    Taggy,

I hope BCCI will do take some interest in cricket instead of making money! The ball is in their court to raise the issue.

I would not advise Kumble or any other player to start the issue. If they do so, they will be barred for questioning decisions.

On the whole it sucks, I think, batsman, bowler or fielder involved in a catch (say) should be given rights to question the decision. And ofcourse they can do that only once!!

Use technology guys! Wake up! Its not perfect! But it certainly adds value to use it! This match would have turned indias way if they had used the technology.

Having said that, Indians should learn to play better cricket. They couldnt survive one day! Its sad to say that they suck!
