Oyvatra thaedal

8 January 2011 16 Comments

A woman, who is content with her single life, one day realizes that she needs a pillar of strength.. She goes in search of her “dream man”, as she races against time given by world realities.. only to realize that search wasnt successful.. “Oyvatra Thaedal” – An unending search – My 32nd poem – An interpretation of a hindi poem “Khoj” by Vatsala Dorairajan

=============

English script for the poem below.

Literal word to word translation for the poem in english is as follows.

The unending search
===================

In my content soul, I started to find something missing..
In my journey of solitude, A shoulder, I started looking..

I went there with the happiness of catching his face in my eyes..
If my face falls in his eyes, I will attain salvation..

I searched, I searched, I searched by writing a poem..
I searched, I searched, I searched for my lover..

I searched in my breath which I breathed..
I searched in my thoughts which I thought..
I searched in the sound of Veena which I played..
I searched in the drops of tears which trickled from my eyes..

Before I could find my love, the time died..
Before I could tell my love, the time went away..

The poem which I wrote praising him, He is not there to read..
The love of mine, who has falled for him, He is not there to appreciate..
